Building a skateboard deck is by no means any form of rocket science, but it can be a bit tricky for the beginner or someone that has no knowledge or expereince of putting one together. That is why for the beginner it is best to get decks that are fully assembled when you are first starting out. As you get better at skateboarding, you will get the feel for different types of wheels and decks, along with trucks too.
But for someone that is first starting out there is no reason for them to be trying to customize a skateboarding deck, as this has nothing to do with the learning process.
