The skateboard deck is the most important tool for the skater, the deck must feel comfortable with the feet, some decks are wider, longer, and more concave than others. And some skateboard decks are a lot more durable than the cheaper ones. If you are a beginner in skateboarding I wouldn’t worry too much about getting an expensive deck right off of the bat, because you really won’t make much use out of the extra durability. Now if you are jumping down flights of stairs and doing slides on rails then investing in a more expensive skateboarding deck would be the right decision to make.
