Complete Skateboard Decks
Building a skateboard deck is by no means any form of rocket science, but it can be a bit tricky for the beginner or someone that has no knowledge or expereince of putting one together. That is why for the beginner it is best to get decks that are fully assembled when you are first starting out. As you get better at skateboarding, you will get the feel for different types of wheels and decks, along with trucks too.
But for someone that is first starting out there is no reason for them to be trying to customize a skateboarding deck, as this has nothing to do with the learning process. It is not the deck and the bearings with the most expensive wheels that are going to make you better, it is the practice and discipline that you put into it.
As you progress and get better, then you should start testing the waters on what type of cheap skateboard deck setup you want to go after. You may like wide decks with big wheels, or you may feel more comfortable with the more concave decks with small wheels that have bearings with a high abec rating.
If you are a street skater, and you are constantly grinding curbs and jumping off of steps you are going to want a pair of reliable trucks that will be able to handle the hell you are going to be putting it through. If you are skateboarding for a means of transportation you will want bigger wheels so you will be able to easier roll over crappy pavement and such.
So my advice to anyone that is just getting into skateboarding is to get one that is already assembled. Not one of those low quality skateboards that they have at wal mart either.
